Director of MorePeople, Guy Moreton, was delighted to be asked to judge the 2006 GCA's Ruxley Rose Plant Area of The Year Competition.  Open to all of this industry's leading group's members this award is seen as one of the sector's premier accolades.

The 2006 finalists were Wisley Garden Centre, Woking; Woodford Park, Cheshire; Van Hage Garden Company, Great Amwell;  Woodlands Nurseries, Leicestershire and Cadbury Garden and Leisure, Bristol.

Following a visit to each of the centres Guy revealed at the GCA Conference on 12th January 2007 that the overall winner was the Van Hage Garden Company.  In his speech Guy commented that making the final decision was extremely difficult as all five finalists were simply excellent.  Van Hage pipped the four other contenders to the winning post with their 'fabulous attention to detail', 'fantastic plant quality', 'original and creative thinking' 'excellent merchandising', 'excellent customer service' and 'that indefinable quality; a tremendous 'wow' factor'.
