From Nervous Starts to Big Growth: Life Inside MorePeople

Life at MorePeople: Insights from Lawrence and Beth

At MorePeople, we’re proud to foster a culture where learning, growth, and fun go hand in hand. In our latest podcast episode, Lawrence from MorePeople sits down with Beth from our marketing team to discuss life at the company, what drew them here, and why so many of us stick around.

Joining MorePeople: First Impressions

Beth has been with MorePeople for over a year and a half but already feels like part of the furniture. She recalls her first impressions of the office: “When I walked in for my interview, I was in awe of the setup. Not many businesses can showcase such a beautiful office, it really made an impression.”

Lawrence, who’s been with the company for seven years, reflected on how the office has evolved. From a modest two-floor space with just 11 people to the open-plan setup accommodating over 40 staff, the growth mirrors the dynamic culture of the company.

Culture, Community, and Fun

One thing that stands out at MorePeople is the balance between professional development and team camaraderie. Beth highlighted the importance of social events and team activities:

“It’s the little things - game shows, Pancake Day, our social committee activities that make coming to work fun and help strengthen our culture.”

From the annual MorePeople conference to local charity events and team-building exercises, employees have opportunities to engage beyond their day-to-day roles, fostering both personal and professional growth.

Opportunities to Grow

Beth’s journey shows just how much opportunity there is at MorePeople. She joined in a brand-new role within marketing and, under the guidance of the directors, has grown her responsibilities and influence.

Lawrence echoed this sentiment, noting the company’s commitment to continuous learning through workshops, conferences, and mentoring opportunities.

“The sky’s the limit. Seven years later, I’m now divisional manager and still pushing for more. The opportunities here are massive if you’re willing to challenge yourself.”

Embracing Challenges and Being Yourself

Both Lawrence and Beth stressed the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone. From interviews to presenting on camera, success at MorePeople comes from embracing challenges and being authentic:

“Be yourself. Say yes. Get comfortable being uncomfortable - it’s how you grow.”

Why MorePeople Stands Out

From the friendly and open culture to the variety of roles and professional growth opportunities, MorePeople offers a unique workplace experience. Beth’s reflections show that whether you’re starting in a new role or looking to advance your career, the company provides support, learning opportunities, and a sense of community that makes it a place employees are excited to return to every day.
