A Royal Recognition in Horticulture: Applications Now Open For The King's Trophy

The Worshipful Company of Gardeners is delighted to have as one of its Royal Liverymen His Majesty King Charles III, who has graciously allowed the Company to create this annual award in his name.

The King’s Trophy is awarded to an individual or team in professional horticulture that has achieved excellence in sustainable horticultural practices or growing innovation, or other notable successes towards the advancement of horticulture.

Applications covering all aspects of horticulture and horticultural science from individuals, small groups and organisations are encouraged.

The judging panel will be looking for innovations or projects that are effectively complete, or at the point of launch. They are keen to see initiatives that have potential to make a substantial contribution to “move the dial” and to change the way the industry approaches something in the future. Alternatively, this could have a substantial effect on sustainability in horticultural practices in the future.

This might be a product, a new technique, a new way of working or another innovation. The development of it and its “market readiness” should be substantially complete and ready to launch.
