It’s an exciting time for the MorePeople team as we look ahead to the 2026 Rutland & Stamford Mercury Business Awards - and this year, we have not one, but two reasons to celebrate.
We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for Team of the Year, while our CEO, Andrew Fitzmaurice, has also been named a finalist for Business Leader of the Year.
The awards celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals across the local area, bringing together business leaders and organisations to recognise the people making a real difference in their communities. This year’s winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Rutland Hall Hotel on Friday 18 September.
Andrew’s nomination for Business Leader of the Year is a fantastic recognition of the leadership and direction he has brought to MorePeople.
The award recognises an individual who demonstrates outstanding achievement, entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to inspire others, while making a positive contribution to both their business and the wider area.
Since joining MorePeople in 2010, Andrew has played a key role in the company’s growth and now leads the business as CEO and shareholder, with responsibility for its strategic and operational direction.

For us, this nomination is particularly meaningful. MorePeople is a people business, and the success we’ve achieved is down to the commitment, collaboration and expertise of the whole team.
The Team of the Year category recognises teams that consistently go the extra mile and whose attitude, commitment and dedication deliver a significant benefit to their organisation.
It’s brilliant to see that collective effort recognised alongside some other fantastic businesses from across the region.
As a business based in Stamford, the Mercury Business Awards have a particular significance for us.
We’re proud to be part of the local business community and to have built a growing recruitment business here while working with clients and candidates across food, farming, horticulture and home.
Being shortlisted in two categories is a great opportunity to reflect on how far MorePeople has come and, more importantly, the people who have helped us get here.
We’re now looking forward to joining the other finalists at Rutland Hall Hotel on 18 September and celebrating everything that makes the local business community so special.
