About our Client:

Our client is a provider of a variety of frozen food products supplying the major UK retailers, food manufacturers and the food service markets. They are a relatively small business here in the UK but have ties to a larger business in Europe. With some ambitious growth plans that they have been delivering over the past ~10 years, they are in the need of a Commercial Account Manager to help them continue this growth trajectory.

About the Job:

This role could suit an established account manager with good relationships within the food manufacturing market or someone aspiring to be a fully fledged commercial manager. You will be the right hand person to the Commercial Director and manage some key accounts whilst also looking for new business opportunities. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to produce accurate forecasting and orders to ensure adequate supply for your customers. You will be able to make decisions and solve problems autonomously. You will be responsible for the day-to-day account management of a few of your own accounts whilst also supporting on the larger accounts within the business. You will be comfortable hunting for new business, submitting tenders and presenting to potential customers. Potential for a permanent role for the right person once key customer business has been confirmed.

The Ideal Candidate:

The perfect candidate for this role will have a background in the food industry and a history of selling to the food manufacturing sector or a retailer. You will have a track record of delivering sales and new business as well as an eye for detail. You will be able to show your ability to work with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate sales forecasts and order delivery. You will be a self starter, motivated and a good team player. You will thrive working towards targets and common goals. You will feel the thrill of a sale or bit of new business won. Team and culture fit is very important to the business, so you will be able to demonstrate you ability to get stuck in, roll your sleeves up and do what is required in a smaller business/team.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you must be a strong team player, have a great 'can-do' attitude, be willing to learn and be commercial driven and astute. Experience in the food industry is a must.

Salary:

Our client is willing to offer a competitive salary and package, car allowance, bonus etc. As a guide, and depending on experience £30-£40k+ pro rata.
