Horticultural Sales & Marketing Manager | Essex

Our client is a leading horticultural supplier who works with growers and retailers across the UK. They are currently seeking an office-based Account Manager with marketing flair as well as great sales experience to take on a wide variety of projects and accounts. Reporting to the Managing Director you will be part of a UK wide sales team, you will be home-based ideally located in the Essex area or surrounding counties.

Job Purpose:
As a passionate Account Manager, you will partner with and ensure the long-term success of the customers. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with your portfolio of assigned customers, working with key business executives, decision-makers and stakeholders. You will liaise between customers and internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs.

You will sustain a positive and supportive approach to your colleagues within the team and contribute to the development of a willing, respectful and creative team culture across all aspects of business life.

Requirements:
Proven sales & account management experience within the green market.
Marketing knowledge and experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, including at executive level.
Experience in delivering customer-focused solutions based on customer needs.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure a customer receives exceptional customer service.
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrably good plant knowledge
Understanding of the principles of marketing, identification of features-benefits and product offer development.
Able to listen to others and formalise their requirements.

Personality:
You will be self-motivated and keen to contribute to the team effort. You will have an interest in gardening and plants, a good memory for plant names and a general understanding of horticultural production and the breeder-grower-retailer supply chain. Being well organised is important to them. You will invest time in continuous personal development, learning about the company, products and services to support changing business activities.

Personal Situation:
You will be able and willing to travel, spending two or three nights away per week, when necessary. On occasions, you will be able to travel abroad in support of customer visits and company events. You will have a clean or near-clean driving license.
