Multiskilled Engineer (Night Shift)
Location: Stamford area
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Shift: 6:00pm - 3:00am
Working Days: Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multiskilled Engineer. Working as part of the engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining plant machinery, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across site operations.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of performance, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on plant machinery and equipment
Minimise downtime and support production to meet operational targets
Maintain site facilities and infrastructure to a high standard
Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures (risk assessments, permits to work, etc.)
Prioritise workload to support production efficiency
Complete accurate daily maintenance records and documentation
Support production start-ups and provide engineering presence on shift
Identify and implement improvements to machinery, processes, and safety
Ensure all work meets food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in audit-ready condition
What We're Looking For
Multiskilled engineering experience (electrical and/or mechanical)
Background within food manufacturing or FMCG preferred
Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance systems
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills to liaise across departments and with contractors
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
Understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support
Assist with training and development of team members where required
Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
Provide shift handovers and communicate key issues effectively
