An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursery Supervisor to join a well‑established, family‑run horticultural business with a strong reputation for high‑quality plant production. This role would suit a practical, hands‑on individual who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering efficient, well‑organised operations.

This is a varied position combining machinery operation, team supervision, and day‑to‑day nursery work. You'll play a key role in ensuring daily tasks are completed to a high standard, while supporting a small, experienced team and maintaining smooth site operations.

What's on Offer

  • £32-40k, dependent on experience

  • Discretionary bonus scheme

  • Overtime paid at time and a half

  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays

  • 2-week Christmas shutdown period

  • Training and development opportunities

  • Stable, long‑term opportunity within a close‑knit team environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise daily nursery operations across the site

  • Work from management plans to deliver tasks efficiently and independently

  • Operate machinery as part of daily production activities

  • Maintain high standards of organisation, efficiency, and quality

  • Carry out a wide range of practical nursery tasks across seasonal demands

  • Conduct daily machinery checks and basic maintenance

  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with expectations

  • Assist and guide team members where required

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in a practical, outdoor or nursery environment

  • Experience operating machinery such as tractors, telehandlers, forklifts, or similar

  • Previous supervisory experience or the ability to step into a leadership role

  • Good understanding of health and safety in a working environment

  • Comfortable working independently and managing workload effectively

  • Organised, reliable, and hands‑on approach to work

  • Experience with tree work or pruning is advantageous

  • Relevant spray certificates (PA1/PA2/PA6) beneficial but not essential

If you're looking for a hands‑on role where you can take ownership, work as part of a close‑knit team, and contribute to a well‑run nursery operation, I'd be happy to discuss this opportunity further.
