Our client is a unique, independent store which offers a boutique feel for its customers. The centre is growing with significant investment in a new restaurant as well as other areas of the centre. About the Role

This role is all about the plant area of the centre and making it the best it can be. You will utilise your plant and retailing to knowledge to create the most visually pleasing area, whilst meeting operational goals. You will work closely with the plant buyer to ensure the best possible range of quality seasonal products to offer customers. You will be comfortable merchandising and rolling up your sleeves to create new displays and present new products. You will utilise your horticulture/plant knowledge to educate customers and ensure the correct execution of events within the centre. You will be able to form lasting and trusting relationships with customers to help them with their gardening needs, from plant identification to disease and pest control etc.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in garden retail and customer service. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to go the extra mile for customers and offer personalised customer service. You will be passionate about plants and horticulture and your knowledge of this area will shine through. You will be able to get hands-on and show your ability to be proactive. You will be able to care for stock, ensuring all plants are of the highest quality whilst minimising waste.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a strong background in plants/horticulture and customer service. You will need to be able to communicate your knowledge in this area as well as showing your passion and enthusiasm for both plants and customer service. You will have a proactive nature and be able to work well within a team.

Salary

~£25k DOE, plus bonus structure and 28 days holiday. You will be part of a growing independent business with future potential.
