About Our Client
Our client is a well-established, family-run business, established in 1952. Growers, Packers and Distributors of fresh produce supplying the hospitability industry across Kent, London and surrounding areas. They have recently diversified into direct Home Deliveries offering freshly picked fruit and vegetables from their own farms as well as a full range of grocery, dairy, alcohol and pantry goods.
About the Role
This role will report to the Procurement Manager and will be specifically accountable for the Quality & Quantity of purchased raw materials and the cost of the materials purchased (in relation to guide / budget prices). In addition, you will be accountable for the source of raw materials purchased (from company approved Supply List only), the accuracy of stock records, management of the procurement team including QC and stock controllers and the night market team.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous produce buying experience, a strong numeracy & written and verbal communication skills, and organisational skills coupled with confident decision making. A high level of negotiation skills in addition to, being driven with a can-do attitude, reliable and professional with a strong work ethic are essential. You will be proactive in your approach, with a logical thought process and a methodical way of working and have had experience leading and managing a team.
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a proven track record as a national account manager within the fresh food industry managing a retail account. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to navigate the challenges in fresh produce supply chains whilst building trusted relationships with your accounts and buyers. Your communication will be clear and concise and you will be a dynamic team player.
