Retail Horticulture Buyer | Yorkshire | up to ~£60k

About the Job:
This role will be all about the garden and everything that goes into delivering a first-class range of products to customers. You will source from suppliers from across the World to buy the volumes required to meet demands. You will know what quality looks like and how to negotiate with a variety of sources. You will utilise your experience in garden categories to push the range forward and offer new and exciting products that deliver sales. You will also be responsible for managing a budget and buying in the best possible way to deliver margin targets.

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong retail buying background. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of garden products and your ability to buy and source relevant products. This could be anything from garden furniture to growing media, fertilisers and plants. You will be able to work closely with NPD, commercial and technical teams to deliver the best possible products to the customers, for a competitive price. You will be au fait with complex supply chains and be able to work well under pressure given the highly seasonal nature of these products.

Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a proven track record in retail buying and negotiation. You will need to have experience in sourcing from a worldwide network. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to buy at the best possible price, whilst simultaneously building long term relationships with suppliers. You will need to have experience in a relevant category and as a minimum an interest in garden and horticulture products.

Salary:
DOE ~£60k+ competitive package
