With the completion of a brand new events building on a private estate, we are seeking a rural events manager to take charge and develop this side of the business. With an established winter shoot and close links to London, there is a huge amount of wider conference opportunities for you to develop.

Our client

The estate is owned and run by a private family who has invested a lot of time and energy into bringing the estate into a more forward-thinking and successful state of affairs.

The passion and enthusiasm for the business is clear to see the moment you talk to the owners who are involved in the day-to-day running but who have the business self-awareness they now need to delegate workloads and the roles developed.

The Role

This is a newly created role focused around the newly built events facilities. Running the day-to-day activities from a small winter shoot but with a large focus on diversifying the client base and finding potential uses for the facilities. The location is prime for company away days and will proved an income for the rest of the year to maximise its usage. You will be given support from the owners but the aim is to have full accountability for the facilities and success.

Typical responsibility:

  • Marketing
  • Managing of accounts
  • Organising and hiring casual staff for events
  • Seeking new clients and business opportunities in line with the location
  • Organisation of events, clients visits
  • Meeting clients assisting on the day with their needs

The Ideal Candidate

The right candidate will likely have a few years' experience in a similar role with a marketing or events background with a rural interest.

Culture fit and proactive attitude are key. You will be working in a friendly but small team so there will be plenty of responsibility but you will also need help out with many jobs.

Ideally you will have a proven track record in:

  • Managing day-to-day financial control, budgeting, reporting, invoicing, bank reconciliation on an Excel spreadsheet
  • Front of house representation of the business/events
  • Labour and supply procurement experience
  • Ambition
