Seed Sales Manager

Job description

Do you enjoy being out on farm, talking crops, spotting opportunities… and then actually turning that into business?

I'm working with a market-leading seed specialist, known for innovation, strong R&D and some seriously impressive facilities, who are now looking to hire a Seed Sales Manager to drive growth across the South of England and into Western Europe.

This is a role for someone who likes being in the field, building relationships, and shaping how products land in the market - not just sitting behind a desk updating spreadsheets.

The Role

This is a 70%+ field-based role, working closely with growers, customers and key industry stakeholders.

You'll be the face of the business in your region - helping customers to get the best from their crops, while driving sales growth and bringing new varieties to market.

What You'll Be Doing

Out in the field:

  • Visiting growers regularly, building strong, long-term relationships
  • Supporting customers with trials, crop performance and product selection
  • Acting as a trusted advisor - not just a salesperson

Driving the commercial side:

  • Managing and growing key accounts across your territory
  • Owning your sales targets, forecasts and pipeline
  • Identifying new business opportunities and developing them strategically
  • Analysing market trends and competitor activity

Bringing new products to life:

  • Leading new product introductions (NPIs) in your region
  • Working closely with R&D and marketing to launch varieties effectively
  • Translating technical data into compelling, real-world benefits for growers

What Makes This Role Interesting

  • You'll work with a business that's heavily invested in R&D, with advanced glasshouses and lab facilities
  • You'll have real influence over how products are positioned and adopted in the market
  • You'll get exposure across UK and European markets
  • You'll be trusted to manage your own territory and make decisions

Who This Suits

You'll likely be someone who:

  • Has 3-7 years' experience in technical sales within seeds, horticulture or fresh produce
  • Understands crops, trials and how varieties perform in real-world conditions
  • Is commercially sharp - comfortable with targets, forecasting and account management
  • Enjoys being customer-facing and building relationships over time
  • Is proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working independently

Bonus if you:

  • Speak another European language (French, German or Dutch)
  • Have strong experience with trial management and product launches

The Details

  • Home-based role covering South UK + Western Europe
  • Regular travel required - this is a field-first role

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary (depending on experience)
  • A dynamic, growing business with strong market presence
  • Real autonomy and ownership of your region
  • The chance to work with innovative products and shape their success

If you're someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge, commercial thinking and time in the field, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role with real impact.
