Inspiring the future generation into food

In addition to supporting the main event, MorePeople is delighted to be sponsoring the Future Generation Forum, an exclusive session for students that ties in with the City Food Lecture. A select group of 36 students and staff from ten specialist food universities will be attending the lecture as the culmination of a programme of activities designed to support them on their journey into a career in food.

The programme includes a half day visit to McDonald’s headquarters with a tour of the facilities and the opportunity to meet key personnel in the business. On arriving at the Guildhall, they will meet the City Food Lecture chairman, keynote speaker and panellists, before taking part in a Q&A session with Andrew Fitzmaurice, Managing Director of recruitment specialist MorePeople.

As Andrew explains, “Our objective is to use this session to help the students make the most of the opportunity of being part of the City Food Lecture. We support a wide range of events that aim to inspire young people into careers in food, helping to raise awareness of the diversity of roles in the industry and using our expertise to prepare them for the job application process.”
