The Challenge
The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) is the UK’s leading trade association representing the fresh fruit, vegetable, and cut flower industry. For over 25 years, the organisation has supported businesses across the entire supply chain, from growers and importers to wholesalers, retailers, and logistics providers, playing a central role in promoting and strengthening the sector.
Following a departure within the team, FPC needed to fill a key position that had been vacant for some time. The brief was specific: they required someone with a strong events background, combined with experience working within a membership organisation, an increasingly difficult combination to find in today’s market. Alongside this, there was also a requirement to hire a part time administrator to support the team.
Our Approach
This assignment came through our long standing relationship with FPC and previous work Angus had delivered for the business. With MorePeople’s strong presence in the professional services space, we were able to act quickly. Rather than relying solely on advertising, we leveraged our existing network, engaging with candidates already known to us, as well as those recommended through trusted referrals.
We quickly identified candidates with the right blend of experience, attitude, and long term potential. Within a couple of weeks, both roles, previously difficult to fill, were successfully completed.
Throughout the process, communication with the CEO, Nigel Jenney, was open, collaborative, and efficient. This made it easy to move at pace while ensuring the candidates were the right fit for both the roles and the wider business.
