The Challenge
Gosh! were looking to appoint an experienced Production Planner on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As with many fixed-term opportunities, this immediately reduced the available talent pool, particularly for a role that requires specialist, hands-on manufacturing experience.
Alongside the contract length, balancing salary expectations and location added another layer of complexity. Finding a candidate with the right production planning background, who was open to a temporary position and within commuting distance, meant a highly targeted search was required.
The Approach
Through my search, I connected with a highly experienced Production Planner whose background closely aligned with the role. Following a recent redundancy due to a site closure, she was eager to return to the industry, lived less than a mile from the site, and was comfortable with the salary package on offer
I worked closely with both the candidate and client, obtaining references and providing additional validation of her experience. This gave the hiring team confidence to move her forward in the interview process.
Following two highly successful interview stages, it became clear that both parties were an excellent match. Gosh! secured an experienced Production Planner who could make an immediate impact, whilst the candidate was able to return to a career she had spent more than a decade building.
