We are working with a really interesting and leading firm of rural surveyors, town planners and business consultants who's offices range from the North West Midlands through to the Midlands supporting rural and residential clients and providing a high-quality service which is very finance focused.

The Job:

This will involve providing strategic consultancy and business advice to a wide range of primarily farming businesses. This strategic advice will be primarily based around finance and taking a closer look at client's accounts for areas that they can improve or develop further as a business. This can be anything from re-structuring a business's finance to identifying areas to make savings or rural grant funding to pursue. Technical and hands on experience will also be beneficial as this role will need you to understand how businesses run and demonstrate credibility in the sector.

There will be a certain element of doing your best to develop business and grow the client base where possible. This is a great opportunity for an agricultural consultant who is looking for a move to a more strategy-based/finance role, or someone working in the finance sector who would like to move their skill set further into the rural sector.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have the following skill set:

An agricultural, agribusiness or farm management facing degree or equivalent financial qualification.
Experience in the agricultural sector, either a background or an association will be considered. Ideally 2-3 years in the sector.
Experience working at a strategic level and an understanding of accounts or balance sheets will be crucial to this role whether this is in a financial consult position or bank role it is very much of interest.
Excellent communication, Microsoft Office and relationships management skills will be paramount to building rapport with clients.
