Assistant Farm Manager
Job description
Assistant Farm Manager
Up to £50,000 + Vehicle Access
Are you an experienced grower looking for your next step in farm management?
I'm working with multiple UK farming operations who are looking to expand their teams with an Assistant Farm Manager. These are fantastic opportunities to join fast paced and exciting environments and play a pivotal role in diverse farming operations.
The Role
In any one of these roles, you'll be responsible for day-to-day operations across a wide rotation of vegetable crops.
You'll report into the Farm Manager, working closely with colleagues across operations, harvesting, and sales to ensure smooth workflow along the supply chain.
These roles are about leading people and managing performance - you'll be highly visible on the ground, working side by side with your team and seasonal workers during peak months.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the establishment, growth, irrigation, and harvest of organic crops.
- Manage staff within the farming team, supporting recruitment and training.
- Work closely with senior managers to coordinate across departments.
- Ensure best practice to maximise yields and maintain high quality.
- Actively lead on-site - setting the standard in a hands-on, approachable way.
About You
- Strong background in vegetable crop production.
- Confident people manager - approachable, communicative, and collaborative.
- BASIS and/or FACTS qualifications desirable (or willingness to train).
- Practical, hands-on approach with excellent organisational skills.
