We are working with a well respected and highly innovative breeder and supplier of vegetable, herb, salad and microgreen seeds as they look to take on a Breeding Research Assistant due to continued business growth.

The role:
You will act as a key member of the plant breeding team and be involved in the development and management of various different plant breeding programs. This will include working on pre-breeding and breeding projects. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining trials, maintaining breeding lines, assisting with selfing, crossing and harvesting, understanding of the plant life cycle, from seed to seed and updating records.

The candidate:
This would suit candidates who have recently graduated with a degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology or a related subject. You will have some practical experience in and be happy to work in a hands-on role. Ideally, you will have your PA1, 3 and 6 spraying certificates. Most importantly, you will be passionate about plants and keen to learn.
