Business Unit Manager | Fresh Produce | Maidstone
We are working with one of the country's leading suppliers of fresh produce who have been at the forefront of developing the industry and their specific categories for over 40 years. They are looking to bring in a Business Unit Manager who is going to be responsible for driving new business outside of their traditional sales channels. This is mainly focused on the likes of the discounters, secondary retailers and food manufacturers/processors.
You will be dealing with a range of customers and taking on their high growth potential accounts and nurturing them. In addition you will also be tasked with highlighting new opportunities to grow the business and expand into new customers.
You will be working very closely with the grower base and will be a key link in ensuring they are aware of the work that is happening to drive volumes.
Working closely with the Sales Director and other Business Unit Managers to drive the company growth targets.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a proven ability to highlight opportunities and win new business. They have a very strong presence in the market and as such most conversations will be fairly warm. You will need to have a good understanding of how to deal with growers as well as this role will be accountable to them as well, ensuring the best returns are achieved. You will be used to managing a team of Account Managers who will be supporting the broader role as well.
