About our Client:
Our client is a leading supplier of a variety of food products with a great reputation for quality and working collaboratively with their customers. They operate in a very fast paced arena and work closely with one another to ensure orders get to customers in full and on time. They serve chefs, restaurants and cutting edge hospitality customers on a daily basis. Thousands of consumers eat their products every day. They have strong ties to the food scene in London (although they have a national reach) and pride themselves in serving some of the best restaurants in the country. They are a team of real foodies and are always on the lookout for the next big thing in the food sector.

About the Job:
In this role you will be responsible for sourcing the quality products that our clients are known for. You will work closely with suppliers to negotiate the best terms whilst meeting strict quality, technical and ethical standards. You will use your negotiation skills to deliver savings, without sacrificing supply or quality. You will understand the commercial consequences of failing to supply the correct products to customers and will work with internal and external planning teams to ensure the daily supply meets demand levels. You will be able to tender for business and invite suppliers to enter the tender process. You will work with suppliers to fix the prices on your given product categories.

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role with have a proven track record of delivering savings and supply without sacrificing quality. You will have experience in the food industry and understand the various sourcing models and routes to market in the food supply chain. You will be an effective buyer and be able to work with suppliers and negotiate the best possible supply terms. You will ideally have experience in sourcing products from within the UK as well as further global procurement experience.

Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a proven track record of buying food categories effectively. You will need to be able to demonstrate your negotiation skills and ability to setup complex supply chains. You will need to be able to move at pace and be able to work well under pressure. Our client is very team focused and you will therefore need to be able to work well with other members of the team.

Salary:
~£35k - £60k DOE + additional benefits
