About Our Client
Our client is a leading supplier of ornamental plants to the UK retailers and independent garden centres. They grow and supply a wide variety of quality plants, including shrubs, perennials, bedding and alpines. They have invested in their business and facilities to be able to produce the best quality products for their customers. The business and team are very focused on their customers and the quality of their products.

About the Role
This role is all about buying affectively and managing a small buying team. You will utilise your experience buying products that go into growing plants to reduce costs, without sacrificing quality. You will be able to lead robust buying processes and tenders across multiple categories and sectors: being able to buy anything from growing media and propagation trays to heating and electricity. You will be able to build lasting relationships with suppliers and manage the team to ensure they stay close to suppliers, whilst ensuring the best possible price is negotiated.

The Ideal Candidate
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to buy products based in the horticulture sector. You will be able to focus on buying products that are fit for purpose and great quality, whilst negotiating the best prices. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team in best practices. You will be able to buy across a variety of categories and products.

Minimum Requirements
Experience in a buying manager role leading a team through buying practises and processes. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to buy products associated with the commercial production of plants and indirects.

Salary
As a guide ~£30-37k
