About Our Client
Our client is a well-established supplier in the landscaping sector. They grow the majority of their products and are well-known for the range of quality stock that they offer. From their sites, they supply multiple customer channels and work together as a team to deliver the best results. They have an experienced and knowledgeable team that help one another deliver results. The business has significantly invested in its sites to maximise efficiency. They are very focused on their green credentials and sustainability too.

About the Role
You will utilise your experience in horticulture to deliver the best range of products for the business at the best possible prices. You will ensure products are fit for purpose, minimise stock holding and negotiate with suppliers, whilst ensuring the production teams have what they need to continue to grow and produce quality plants. You will lead a team of 3 junior buyers, ensuring that they follow best practices and oversee their given categories affectively. You will be able to lead and coach your team to be motivated and deliver results. You will ensure the suppliers deliver on the specification of plants/products promised. You will constantly look for ways to improve the buying process and supply chain. You will work with internal stakeholders to improve forecasts, deliver range changes, solve supply issues and improve the buying process.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in commercial horticulture and buying. You will have a degree or relevant horticulture qualification. Ideally, you will also possess a CIPS qualification. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work with a supply base to deliver the range and quality of products required at the best possible price. Ideally, you will have led a team and managed people in the past.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have experience in the horticulture/garden sector and have buying experience in relevant categories.
