They manufacture and supply a variety of commodity-based food ingredients into the food manufacturing, food service and food distribution sectors. About the Role
This role is all about future markets and hedging in a commodity market. You will utilise your experience in analysing markets to assess potential risks and price fluctuations to aid the business in mitigating risk. You will work closely with the commercial and finance teams to deliver the best commercial and financial performance possible. This is an area that our client could do more in and so there is great potential for you to utilise your skills and experience to positive affect.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a few years experience in commodity trading, ideally within the food industry and will have been exposed to future markets/price-fixing/hedging etc with the remit of reducing risk and increasing commercial performance. You will be educated to degree level, ideally within food science, business, agriculture, finance or relevant topic. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work with internal teams to deliver results and feel confident in presenting your ideas to stakeholders. You will need to be a quick learner and be willing to get stuck in where required. This is a trading business, so you will need to be comfortable picking up a phone to sell and trade with new and existing customers. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to build lasting relationships with customers. A foreign language and/or experience in a field-to-fork supply chain or agribusiness would be considered an advantage.

Minimum Requirements
Due to the specialist nature of this role and business, the successful candidate will need, as a minimum, to have experience in a commodity trading role with at least a couple of years of future markets experience. You will also need a great attitude, a desire to learn and the ability to form lasting relationships. You will also need to be a strong team player and be able to fit into a close-knit group with a family-feel.

Salary and Package
Our client has a degree of flexibility for the right person and skill set. As a guide, £30-45k basic + package DOE.
