What You Will Be Doing
- Managing multiple ongoing ecological projects across the East of England
- Designing and planning surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments
- Interacting directly with clients to deliver high-quality, tailored ecological advice
- Collaborating with in house teams and external consultants
- Producing technical reports, impact assessments, and biodiversity documentation
- Supporting, mentoring, and providing training for Assistant and Graduate Ecologists
- Contributing to work on habitat banking, landscape recovery, and biodiversity net gain initiatives
- Staying informed of changes in relevant legislation and industry best practices
What You Need
- Relevant degree or higher qualification in a related subject
- At least 3 years' experience in ecological consultancy
- Proven experience with:
- Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
- Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments
- Protected species surveys (e.g., badgers, reptiles)
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent technical report writing skills
- Working knowledge of UK and EU wildlife/environmental legislation and policy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel for work assignments
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Specialised field survey experience (e.g., ornithology)
- FISC Level 4 or above
- MoRPh accreditation
- Experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works
- GIS/QGIS proficiency
- Bat licence (level two or above)
- CSCS card
