About our Client:
Our client is a supplier of high end and niche fresh produce to some of the best restaurants and hotels in London. They have a real mix of products and seasonailty is a big part of what they do. If you've ever eaten at a high end restaurant, hotel, bar or event, chances are you've eaten some of their products. They started as a family owned and run business and have now progressed to be part of a larger business. They have some ambitious growth plans and it's an exciting time to be part of the business. They have dealt with the fresh produce markets in London and many of the wholesalers and suppliers for years. Their products are all about quality.
About the Job:
This role will play a key role in buying the products required to serve the customers with the quality fresh produce that our client is known for. You will utilise your knowledge and experience to buy some of the best fresh produce around, whether it be from growers in the UK, Parisian or Milan markets or your own direct sources. You will know what quality looks like and what the customers want. Provenance is becoming more important to customers and consumers, so you will know where the products you are buying are originating from and how this can add value to the business. You will need to be astute and commercially focused to deliver results.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will know where to buy all of the special, niche bits of fresh produce that the restaurants and hotels love to use, and will have existing relationships with suppliers, growers and other sources. You will have a proven track record of buying effectively, delivering commercial results and relationships with different sources. You will be a strong team player and be able to communicate at all levels.
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to know quality fresh produce, where to buy it from, and have a great track record of buying effectively.

The successful candidate will move through 2-3 stages of interviews, meeting various stakeholders within the business.
