Fruit Agronomist, West Midlands
Job description
Our client is a market leading fresh produce company that is growing from strength to strength. They work with growers across the UK to ensure that their customers are provided with top quality, tasty produce all year round. They are now seeing knowledgeable and eager Fruit Agronomist to join their Agronomy team.
The job:
As Fruit Agronomist, it will be your job to promote agronomic best practices to growers. You'll do this by:
- Regularly visiting soft fruit growers on the farm.
- Monitoring pests & diseases and making recommendations through the Muddy Boots platform.
- Planning Integrated Pest Management Strategies and using beneficial species.
- Providing crop husbandry recommendations.
- Analysing growing media, fertigation and irrigation strategies.
- You'll also get involved in supporting various research programs, variety selection and training Trainee Agronomists
The person:
- You'll be enthusiastic, self-motivated and passionate about the fresh produce industry.
- You must be FACTS & BASIS qualified.
- You will have experience of working with horticultural crops, preferably soft fruit or similar.
- You'll have great interpersonal skills.
- A full driving licence is also essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced soft fruit agronomists and those who have worked in a similar role within horticultural crops previously who are now looking to get into soft fruit.
