Job description
Growing Assistant - Soft Fruit Production
Herefordshire | Permanent | Full-time | £28,000 - £32,000
Do you want to be part of a team that grows tonnes of fresh, delicious fruit enjoyed by people all over the UK?
We're looking for an enthusiastic Growing Assistant to join a leading soft fruit producer. You'll play a key role in supporting the growing and harvesting of raspberries and blueberries - working with a dedicated team and learning all the ins and outs of large-scale fruit production. This is a brilliant opportunity to build a long-term career in the fresh produce industry.
What You'll Be Doing
- Getting hands-on with growing jobs: tunnel construction, crop husbandry, maintenance, and new growing projects
- Supporting and monitoring crop production from planting to harvest
- Coordinating day-to-day logistics for seasonal work teams
- Training and guiding supervisors and seasonal staff to deliver high-quality results
- Running inductions for new employees and keeping everything on track with accurate records
- Monitoring health & safety across operations
- Stepping in to cover Harvest Assistant duties when needed
What We're Looking For
- A practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
- Organised and able to plan ahead (especially in busy harvest season)
- Confidence in managing and motivating people
- Willingness to learn and a real passion for fresh produce 🌱
- Experience in fruit growing/harvest would be an advantage (but full training is provided!)
- A full, clean driving licence and long-term right to work in the UK
Why This Role Rocks
- Be part of one of the UK's top soft fruit growers, producing fruit for major supermarkets
- Learn from an experienced team and get full training to develop your career
- A varied role with lots of responsibility - no two days are the same
- Winter months mean regular Monday-Friday hours, while harvest season brings an exciting, fast-paced challenge with overtime opportunities
Ready to grow your career?
If you're motivated, hands-on, and excited by the idea of working in fresh produce, I'd love to hear from you. Apply today and join a business where you'll see the fruits of your labour.
