Head of Compliance - Lead the Future of Food Safety at Pret

Are you a compliance leader who lives and breathes food safety, brand integrity, and operational excellence? We are working exclusively with Pret who are looking for a Head of Compliance to safeguard its brand, ensure its global standards are met, and lead a high-performing team across equity shops and franchise partners.

You'll be the guardian of Pret's food compliance systems - from specification management to franchise partner oversight - ensuring our customers get the trusted, delicious Pret experience every time. You'll shape policies, embed best practice, and drive continuous improvement across the business, all while supporting Pret's global expansion and transformation initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead compliance to Pret's Food Technical & Safety Framework across equity and franchise operations

  • Own and manage recipe/specification systems, ensuring accurate product data worldwide

  • Drive audits, risk management, and continuous improvement programs

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to embed compliance into strategy and business growth

  • Build and maintain technical relationships with franchise partners

  • Lead, inspire, and grow a multidisciplinary compliance team

  • Monitor KPIs, analyse trends, and deliver actionable insights

  • Represent Pret externally to stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory developments

You'll Need:

  • Extensive experience in food safety, technical leadership, and compliance across retail, manufacturing, or franchise models

  • Proven track record in policy development, compliance verification, and business transformation projects

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills

  • HACCP Level 4, advanced Food Safety certifications, and Lead Auditor training desirable

  • Recognised industry expertise and the ability to lead high-performing teams
