Head of Farming
Salary DOE + benefits
Want to see all your hard work on the supermarket shelves?
Want to be invested in by an employer who values their people?
Let me tell you more…
What's the role all about?
Coriander, mint, parsley, thyme, and tarragon… just a few of the crops that this business provides to some of the UK's leading retailers and foodservice companies.
Day to day you will be responsible for overseeing the outdoor production of these crops across 120Ha. This will include the quality and the distribution
You will also manage a team of 3 farm workers, ensuring that they follow the best practices and standards for sustainable farming. As with any role in the industry, the management responsibility will increase during peak season.
You will liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, giving you the opportunity for a fuller business overview
Long-term, there's so much more.
With an expanding portfolio of crops and customers, you will be leading projects for growth and innovation. The business already has plans to double their production space, which is a great project for you to get your teeth into.
You will be steering the ship in crop enhancement to enable continued business success.
You will contribute to the development and innovation of new products and services.
How has this amazing opportunity come about?
Some re-shuffling within the business has opened up this unique opportunity to join a fast-moving and ever-growing business. They don't usually recruit for roles this senior as they typically recruit internally, but they want someone with fresh ideas.
Is this the role for you?
Can you demonstrate excellent people management with the ability to motivate and engage a team?
Are you financially competent and commercially minded with understanding of business efficiency?
Can you bring passion and creativity to this senior role to help move the business forward?
Will you strive to deliver outstanding quality, value, innovation, and service to customers?
Well then, you could be perfect for this team!
What's on offer for you?
Based in the beautiful West Sussex countryside and surrounded by the South Downs National Park, this will no doubt be a great work environment and place to call home. When your summers are busy, the beautiful landscape will make your mornings better, and in the quieter winter months there is plenty on offer in the local area.
A generous salary is on offer of circa £70k, depending on experience. There are additional benefits on top of this available to all their valued employees.
