Horticulturist

£30k+ Depending on Experience | Full-Time | Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Horticulturist to join a specialist growing organisation working with a unique ornamental crop. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on horticultural environment and is motivated by the opportunity to work with plants in a protected growing setting.

You'll be involved in day‑to‑day plant care, working closely with a dedicated team to support high-quality cultivation within controlled environments such as glasshouses or polytunnels. This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys practical work, has a genuine enthusiasm for growing, and is keen to develop their expertise within a niche area of horticulture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the cultivation and ongoing care of a specialist ornamental crop
  • Work within protected growing environments and monitor plant health
  • Carry out routine tasks including watering, feeding, pruning, and general plant husbandry
  • Maintain clean, organised working areas and follow best horticultural practice
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality production standards

What We're Looking For

  • Strong passion for plants and horticulture
  • A qualification in horticulture or agriculture - ideally a degree, though RHS Level 2 or above is also welcomed
  • Experience working within protected cropping environments (glasshouses, tunnels, controlled environments, etc.)
  • Good practical skills and a willingness to learn specialist cultivation techniques
  • A positive attitude and reliability in a hands‑on growing role
