Junior Maintenance Engineer (Day Shift)

Location: Isleham, Cambridgeshire
Pay: £32,000+
Hours: Day Shift Panama (77 hours over 2 weeks)

The Opportunity: Move From the Line to Engineering

We're looking for someone already on the factory floor a Machine Minder, Setter, or Operator who knows the production environment and wants to grow into a hands-on engineering role.

As a Junior Maintenance Engineer, you'll work on real machinery, helping maintain and repair plant equipment while developing your engineering skills. This is the first step toward a full career as a multi-disciplined engineer at a major UK food supplier.

What You'll Do

• Assist with maintenance, repairs, and servicing of production machinery.

• Learn and apply mechanical, electrical, and PLC fault-finding skills.

• Keep accurate engineering logs and support shift handovers.

• Work alongside senior engineers on continuous improvement projects.

• Gain experience in welding, fabrication, and general fitting.

What We're Looking For

• Factory or food production experience is essential.

• Hands-on, proactive, and eager to learn technical engineering skills.

• Motivated to grow quickly into a skilled, professional engineer.

• A team player with good communication and problem-solving mindset.

Shift Pattern: Day Shift Panama (06:00 - 18:00, 77 hours over 2 weeks)
