Line Leader
Job description
I am looking for a Packhouse Line Leader to take ownership of my clients packing operations. You will be at the heart of their success, ensuring that their high-quality fruit is graded, packed, and labelled to perfection while keeping your team motivated and safe.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will monitor workflow, hit daily KPIs, and solve operational challenges in real-time.
What's in it for You?
- Community Spirit: Join a team that values cultural activities and a strong, supportive community atmosphere.
- Affordable Accommodation: We offer convenient, low-cost housing directly on-site to make your commute as easy as possible.
- Career Growth: Lead a diverse team and gain experience with industry-standard software like Pack Star and Harvest Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of packers to meet "pack per minute" targets and daily KPIs.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the grading and sorting of fruit, ensuring accurate labelling and compliance with customer specifications.
- Safety & Hygiene: Lead by example with a "Safety First" approach. Ensure all staff wear correct PPE (snoods, hairnets, etc.) and maintain a clean, hazard-free line.
- Problem Solving: Address equipment breakdowns, staffing shortages, or bottlenecks promptly to minimize downtime.
- Record Keeping: Use Harvest Manager to record staff wages and Pack Star for pallet building.
What I am Looking For:
- Experience: Proven ability to lead or motivate a team within a production, warehouse, or factory environment.
- Skills: Familiarity with packing line equipment and basic computer skills for reporting.
- Resilience: You should be physically fit (able to lift up to 20kg and stand for periods of time).
- Communication: Basic English-speaking skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other line leaders and supervisors.
- Knowledge: An understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
