As part of their ongoing investment in people and technology, they are now looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their dedicated engineering team and help ensure smooth, efficient, and reliable production operations.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of their production lines and plant machinery. You'll be responsible for delivering both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance across all production equipment.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Work on a variety of equipment including mixers, freezers, conveyors, pumps, and automated packaging systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machine performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with production teams to reduce recurring issues and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance, ideally holding a relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, HNC, HND).
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and food safety compliance.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and provide occasional out-of-hours support when required
