Maintenance Engineer
Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturer. This is a fantastic role for a hands-on, technically minded engineer who enjoys working across mechanical, electrical and pump systems within a fast-paced production environment.
The business operates from a modern, well-equipped site, supplying products throughout the UK and internationally. They are known for their high standards, commitment to innovation, and supportive culture that values efficiency, safety and employee wellbeing.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving all site machinery and equipment, ensuring reliability and performance across the operation. This position involves both preventative maintenance and responsive repair work, as well as opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to keep equipment operating efficiently.
- Responding swiftly to breakdowns and diagnosing faults to minimise downtime.
- Identifying opportunities to improve machinery performance and reliability.
- Coordinating maintenance schedules and planned downtime with production teams.
- Managing spare parts inventory and procuring replacement components as required.
- Adhering to ISO quality and safety standards at all times.
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Working collaboratively with production teams to enhance technical knowledge.
- Staying up to date with industry best practices and technological developments.
- Undertaking additional engineering duties as needed.
Candidate Profile
We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented engineer with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should be equally comfortable managing documentation and data as you are working "hands-on" with tools and equipment.
Experience and skills required:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
- Experience with pumps, control systems or similar industrial equipment.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
