The Ideal Candidate:

Are you a supply chain professional with a passion for retail and a green thumb? Our client is seeking an experienced individual with 2-4 years in a supply chain role, supporting retail Category Management or Merchandising teams. The ideal candidate is commercially savvy, possesses a sound understanding of costings, and has a keen eye for detail in forecasting and stock management within the horticulture industry.

Purpose of the Role:

As a vital member of the Buying & Supply Chain Team, you'll be directly responsible for stock management, inventory planning, and order processing within the garden hardware, packet seeds, and dry bulbs categories. You will be Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate forecasting, costings, and strategic direction, maximizing sales opportunities and maintaining target product availability.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Analyse sales figures and historical data to anticipate future demand and trends.
  • Devise seasonal merchandising trading plans, collaborating with Category Managers.
  • Liaise with the warehouse team on product costings analysis and inbound stock visibility.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on minimum orders, forecasting seasonal volumes, and minimizing unnecessary stock holdings.
  • Monitor in-season sales for potential mark-downs or promotions.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to optimize product presentation and digital representation.
  • Support Category Managers with promotional activity, main catalogue offers, and margin management.
  • Forecast packaging requirements for live goods and ensure compliance with regulatory entities.
