The Role:

This is a practical role, working within a team of gardeners where the focus is on delivering top-quality garden maintenance and exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement the landscape maintenance plan to deliver the highest standards upheld by the company.
  • Assist the supervisor in compiling maintenance reports, by noting any issues.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met across all activities and where required ensure RAMS are reviewed and signed.
  • Watering of non-irrigated areas as appropriate for the season.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, trimming and pruning of trees, shrubs and herbaceous.
  • Plant, transplant, and care for trees and shrubs according to seasonal requirements.
  • Apply fertilizers, feed as needed, following safety guidelines and regulation
  • Take care of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition and report any replacements needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

What you'll need:

Technical:

  • Previous experience in the management and maintenance of soft landscaping
  • A recognised horticultural qualification
  • Professional qualification in landscape management and/or horticulture - NVQ Level 2 minimum
  • CSCS card preferred
  • Ability to work full-time and travel across London
  • Driving License preferred (min driving age of 28)
  • 2 years+ experience in the following: pruning, pest and disease control, planting, irrigation, turf care, use of horticultural machinery.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality and environmental issues relevant to the project

  • Great communicator who can effectively take on board instruction and action the necessary tasks.
  • A self-starter who is organised and proactive without a need to be managed closely. Confidence to flag any issues for the daily reports.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to develop a career in the horticultural industry.
