Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Job description
A long-established, family-run business specialising in Fruit is looking for a dynamic and diligent electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its growing Engineering team. With over 75 years of heritage and innovation, this is an opportunity to be part of a company that values quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The Role
You'll support planned, preventative, and routine maintenance across a wide range of machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth, efficient operations across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain machinery and equipment to optimum standards through planned maintenance
- Use fault-finding techniques to respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve reliability and reduce costs
- Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance and repairs
- Manage critical spare parts stock and ordering
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Keep technical knowledge up to date through training and industry best practice
About You:
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent (City & Guilds, HNC/ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition etc.)
- Strong electrical skills with mechanical experience
- PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and proactive mindset
- Commitment to high health & safety standards
Working Hours:
- 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern
- 07:00-19:00 and 12:00-24:00
