Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Job description

A long-established, family-run business specialising in Fruit is looking for a dynamic and diligent electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its growing Engineering team. With over 75 years of heritage and innovation, this is an opportunity to be part of a company that values quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

The Role

You'll support planned, preventative, and routine maintenance across a wide range of machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth, efficient operations across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain machinery and equipment to optimum standards through planned maintenance
  • Use fault-finding techniques to respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve reliability and reduce costs
  • Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance and repairs
  • Manage critical spare parts stock and ordering
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Keep technical knowledge up to date through training and industry best practice

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent (City & Guilds, HNC/ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition etc.)
  • Strong electrical skills with mechanical experience
  • PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive mindset
  • Commitment to high health & safety standards

Working Hours:

  • 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern
  • 07:00-19:00 and 12:00-24:00
