National Account Manager | Fresh Food | Nottingham

About Our Client
Our client is a manufacturer of a variety of value-added fresh food products who supply the major retailers, their supply chain and the foodservice and food-to-go sectors. They are real foodies and are very hands-on with their products. They enjoy working with customers to create the best tasting products to sell to their customers. The team is built of ex-chefs and fresh food professionals who are all passionate about the industry and their products.
About the Role
This role will focus on the food manufacturers, processors and potentially some foodservice customers. You will utilise your experience in the food industry to drive sales and commercial results with customers. You will be involved in the development process and proactively work with customers and internal development teams to continue to add value to customers and end-users. You will be hands-on with the products and be willing to roll up your sleeves to get stuck-in in a very fast-paced environment that is constantly developing. You will be able to adapt your sales process depending on the customer and how they work to deliver long term relationships and commercial wins.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in the fresh food sector. You will be a passionate foodie. Maybe you were a development chef in the past who has moved into account management and sales. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver sales and account growth with the major food manufacturers and processors. You will be driven to progress your skills and be rewarded for the business that you deliver. You will have a proven track record of dealing with the food manufacturers and be able to work as part of a team to deliver projects.
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to be a food professional with a proven track record in sales and account management. You will be a real foodie and be passionate about the sector and products. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to form long term relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. You will be willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with products and projects in the office.
Our client is keen to get the right person into this role sooner rather than later, but also wants to ensure that they get the right person into the team. The successful candidate will move through multiple interviews to ensure their compatibility. This process can take time to complete.
