About the Company
Our client is a dynamic and progressive supplier of food products with a reputation for fantastic quality and great service. An established family owned business they offer a variety of food products and ingredients into the food manufacturing, food box businesses, foodservice and wholesale markets. They are ambitious and are looking to grow the business and their team further.
About the Role
You will research and track the latest trends coming through the food market to capitalise on any opportunities in the market. You will work with existing suppliers to deliver NPD requirements and where required you will source new suppliers to meet the NPD needs of the business. You will deliver the end-to-end NPD strategy for the business and have a real influence on the emerging trends in the food sector. You will work closely with internal stakeholders in commercial, NPD and supply chain teams to deliver the best service to the customers. You will sit on the management team to deliver the NPD remit.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced NPD buyer who can lead an NPD strategy end-to-end or an NPD manager with the commercial skills to deliver buying KPI's. You will be able to build long term relationships with suppliers, whilst delivering commercial KPI's and keeping costs to a minimum. You will be able to assess suppliers to ensure the quality of ingredients and products is not compromised. You will communicate the NPD strategy and new products internally to ensure stakeholders understand the new products and can sell them effectively. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver savings and commercial results within an NPD focused remit.
At a minimum, you will need to be a real foodie with a proven track record of working in the food sector in an NPD/buying role.
