The business

Our client is a leading manufacturer of fresh/chilled food. They supply the major UK food retailers, discounters and foodservice markets with a variety of products. They have a great reputation for quality and service levels and have built real, collaborative relationships with their customers. They have multiple locations across the UK, each with state of the art facilities that have seen significant investment. Our client is committed to delivering products that add value to their customers and consumers. They are looking for an experienced NPD Manager to drive and deliver the concept development requirements for customers.

The role

Develop customer category understanding and relevant consumer insight so you effectively deliver development to the correct target audience. Supporting the NPD Controller to plan, organise and control resources to deliver new product development concepts to agreed quality, cost and timescales. Develop and maintain good working relationships with other site NPD teams and functions to support cross-site development projects. Work in conjunction with the site Process Manager to oversee the successful handover of products from kitchen to the factory.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will have a relevant food /food science degree, you will have a strong proven track record doing a similar NPD role within a food manufacturing business, have experience in developing products within a chilled environment. You will have a passion for food development and driving innovation for your product category. You will have the skills to be able to manage multiple projects, ideally have presented to retailers previous, have experience of leading and managing a team and have good administration skills.
