About the Client
Running an independent, family-owned horticultural business Surrey. The business was originally founded in 1952 as a plant nursery. From its humble beginnings as a plant nursery, the centre has flourished to become a complete home and garden shopping centre with over 60 years' experience in the industry. This site stocks a wide range of quality plants and garden products together with an extensive selection of garden furniture, BBQ's, homeware and gifts. The on-site restaurant serves fresh, home-cooked breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas, pastries and cakes, whilst the Farm Shop stocks fresh and seasonal local produce.
About the Role
This role is a customer facing, sales role however it will also involve working with suppliers on the buying side of business. This will include looking at new suppliers, looking after margins and ensuring you find the best value of stock. The sales side of the role will include leading a team of floor staff, displaying and maintaining stock as well as dealing with customer requests and issues. This role is filled with the autonomy and flexibility to make the role your own and bring in fresh thoughts and ideas.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will need a strong garden retail background and a passionate for sales. Horticulture knowledge is a must as you will be expected to speak with buyers and advise customers. The ability to lead a team and delegate to staff is essential as well as being engaging and having good communication and timekeeping skills.
