Project Manager - Vision Systems
Job description
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of delivering high-value automation projects that incorporate industrial vision systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment and wants to lead cutting-edge projects for some of the UK's most recognisable food and beverage brands.
In this role, you'll manage multiple projects simultaneously (typically 3-5, up to £1m each), coordinating cross-disciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful delivery from initial kick-off through to final acceptance.
This is a delivery-focused role, while you won't be the primary presence on-site, you'll be accountable for project outcomes, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of automation and vision projects, ensuring timing, quality, scope, and budget are achieved.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners to align with project goals.
- Manage risks, compliance, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee planning, commissioning, and integration of industrial vision systems.
- Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders and client contacts.
- Support handover, reporting, and final acceptance activities.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- 5-10 years' experience in managing engineering or automation projects.
- Proven ability to deliver multiple £1m-scale projects simultaneously.
- Hands-on experience with industrial vision systems.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled vision platforms.
- Engineering qualification or equivalent technical background.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with flexibility for weekly client travel.
- Experience working with food manufacturers.
Desirable
- Project management certification.
- Electrical/controls engineering background.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other structured delivery frameworks.
Why Apply?
- Be at the forefront of automation and vision technology in the food sector.
- Join a technically strong, values-driven team with exciting growth plans.
- Deliver projects that make a tangible impact on efficiency, quality, and performance.
