About the Client
We are currently working with a privately owned business with a great reputation. Our client supplies multiple channels: foodservice, wholesale and retailers, with a variety of fresh and frozen food products. They pride themselves on their innovation and the products that they offer. They have more than doubled the size of the business in recent years. They have changed a lot in the past 12 months and have adapted to the market and the pandemic to be in the strongest possible position. As foodservice will come back online in more volume, they have a real chance to grow further and continue their growth trajectory.

About the Role
You will use your buying experience to deliver savings and efficiencies whilst ensuring the supply of sufficient stock and volumes to meet production needs. You will be able to build short, medium and long term relationships with suppliers. You will be able to support a procurement team to deliver savings and procurement strategies. You will be able to assess supply chains and proactively deal with any potential supply issues before they impact the factories.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will come from a food manufacturing background and have a background in ingredients/raw materials/commodities. You will be a strong team player and be able to support the procurement team with ordering, supply chain, stock control, sourcing new ingredients and supplier management. You will develop your knowledge of the sector and your career as a result. You will have experience with ERP software and will possess advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, as a minimum, you will need to have a buying background. You will need to understand commodity, ingredients or raw material procurement. You will need to have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and have a can-do attitude.

Salary
Circa £30k with some flexibility for the right person
