Are you an experienced procurement professional with a background in the fresh produce sector? Do you have a background in securing supply from South American and South African growers? If so, we want to hear from you.

About Our Client
Our client is one of the largest Fresh Produce businesses in the country, with a strong history of delivering strong results to their customers and good returns for their growers. They supply all of the major retailers with quality produce and have a great reputation for their service. They have heavily invested in the business to ensure that they can continue to add value to the supply chain. They are focused on living and breathing their company values and work as one team to deliver. They are farmers and producers themselves and they have built respectful relationships with growers across the world to offer a year-round supply of their fantastic products. They have also delivered some big steps in delivering their CSR program and are very focused on the environment.

About the Role
You will utilise your experience to create and deliver an international procurement strategy for your category. You will work with growers in South America and South Africa to ensure the supply of quality fresh produce year-round for the customers. You will direct the import team to manage the supply required, building long term, sustainable relationships with growers. Your insight and market knowledge will allow you to propose calculated risks to grow the business. You will offer advice on the latest varieties and trends to the grower partners to deliver the best possible crop to customers and consumers. Mentoring and influencing the junior members of the team will come naturally to you as you build and deliver sustainable business plans.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will be a resourceful and solutions-focused individual. Given the growers you will be working with, you will need to be able to communicate in Spanish. Your emotional intelligence, communication, teamwork, leadership and organisation skills will be important to deliver in this role.

Minimum Requirements
