I am currently working with one of the UK's leading food manufacturers, they are part of a wider group with 13 UK manufacturing sites. They are seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join their team. This full-time position operates on a 4 on 4 off schedule, offering an excellent opportunity to balance work and personal life.

As a Shift Engineer, you will support all site engineering and maintenance needs, ensuring efficient production through asset maintenance and technical expertise. You will work closely with the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager to minimise downtime and improve processes.

What are your responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in planned and reactive maintenance.
- Complete necessary documentation and service reports.
- Assist with ad-hoc duties as required by the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and safety requirements.
- Provide technical advice and innovative solutions to problems.
- Work with the engineering team to optimise plant performance, including utilities like electricity and compressed air.
- Maintain and follow safety standards and procedures for all engineering activities.
What are the requirements?
- Multi-skilled engineer with time-served experience and/or qualifications.
- BTEC Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is essential.
- HNC or HND in an engineering discipline is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience in a similar role, particularly in food manufacturing, is desirable.
- Effective problem-solver and decision-maker with strong communication skills.
- Proven ability to deliver performance improvements and work within budget.
- HACCP level 3 qualification is desirable.
- Fully computer literate.
