About Our Client
Freeworld Foods are an autonomous UK business, part of the Congelados Navarra Group in Spain. The business was formed in 2007 and has quickly grown and continues to do so. Their offices for the UK operations are based in Spalding, a Lincolnshire market town known for its rich tradition of agriculture and food production, with good supply chain connections to deliver to major UK retailers, food service providers and industrial clients.

About the Job
As Technical & Development Director you will work very closely with the Managing / Commercial Director, leading the technical function and ensuring the business is legal and compliant on food safety at all times. You will manage the supply base on supplier approval and risk assessments, be customer facing to the UK retailers and take responsibility for the maintenance of all 3rd Party audits and accreditations. This is a small team and will need to roll your sleeves up at times and cover for your team.

The Ideal Candidate
This is a Director role within the business so you will bring a wealth of experience within a 'Head of' role within an FMCG business. Specific frozen food experience is not necessary, however, experience of managing within a very hands-on production process is critical, along with the ability to demonstrate success in developing teams and driving the safety agenda. Extensive knowledge of managing food safety within a fast-moving food manufacturing environment or site is essential and multi-site / multi-product experience would be beneficial. Must be flexible, there will be some foreign travel within the role.
You will have strong people management skills with the ability to lead and coach your team. A good commercial awareness is a given and excellent project management skills and a passion to drive the quality of the business to the next level.
