About the Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Compliance Manager to join their retail division based in Kent. Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you'll take the lead in managing the technical compliance across their supply chain - ensuring food safety, compliance, quality improvement, and sustainability targets are achieved.

You'll work across a wide range of fresh produce lines and retail customers, driving initiatives like Quality in Motion (QIM), Supplier Approval Process rollouts, and sustainability reporting via platforms like M2030 and Mondra. This role combines technical expertise with operational leadership, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and rollout of the Supplier Approval Process, using risk-based methods.
  • Manage technical KPIs, supplier reviews, and reporting across the business.
  • Oversee Quality in Motion (QIM) initiative rollout to all suppliers.
  • Take the lead on customer sustainability reporting (Scope 1, 2 & 3) via online portals.
  • Implement new QC processes, including AI-based tech (Clarifresh) and ERP system integration.
  • Ensure technical compliance across packing sites, aligned with BRC standards (Agent & Broker).
  • Coordinate packaging and artwork development with internal teams and customers.
  • Act as day-to-day technical lead for Value Creation initiatives, alongside the Commercial Director.

What We're Looking For:

  • Solid technical background in fresh produce, ideally across multiple UK retailers.
  • Strong understanding of technical operations, compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Analytical mindset - confident using ERP systems, Power BI, and reporting tools.
  • Project management experience with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • A collaborative, "team-first" attitude with a drive to deliver continuous improvement.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Degree in food science, agriculture, or a related field.

Why Join?
They are a global leader in fresh produce, committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking technical team and make a real impact across the supply chain.
