About our Client

We are recruiting for an established and highly regarded multi-site fresh produce grower/packer supplying into the retail and foodservice sector. This is a new role for business and will report to the Group Technical Director.

About the Role

As Technical Manager, you will manage the technical department, ensuring the business is fully compliant and up to date with legislation/customer requirements and maintaining full accreditation. You will be a key point of contact for internal & external business customers regarding technical matters. Leading site audits BRC, Red Tractor, Organic Soil Association and customer compliance audits. Lead the HACCP Team ensuring the documentation is current and reviewed annually. Overall responsibility for the product specifications against customer requirements, ensuring the maintenance of current data. Drive Innovation, new product development and Strategy within the customers and take the lead of driving continual improvement

The Ideal Candidate

You will be ideally educated to a degree level in food science, food technology, or food safety-related discipline for this role. You will have experience of working as a Technical Manager, ideally within fresh produce. Experience in managing a team. Be HACCP level 4 and food safety qualified. Previous experience as an Internal Auditor and preferably Lead Auditor is desirable.

You must have experience BRC V8, good understanding and experience of leading customer audit requirements - Tesco, M&S, Waitrose, Aldi
