About our Client
We are working with a specialist supplier that produces fresh, frozen and brined products, each within a dedicated factory, supplying into the food manufacturing industry from chilled, frozen and further food manufacturers. Continuous investment ensures that production techniques and machinery are able to cope with the ever-changing, modern-day requirements demanded of vegetable processing factories. All produce is sourced from an approved list of growers and suppliers, grown to meet the current Red Tractor or Global GAP produce assured protocols as a minimum.


About the Role
As Technical Manager you will be reporting to the Directors of the business and you will develop and lead a culture of quality and food safety across the business so that these become integrated as natural ways of working.
To successfully develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, ensuring their specific requirements are met at all times so that credible and productive relations are sustained. To effectively manage the supplier approval process and raw material risk assessment, ensuring relevant controls are in place, responsible for ensuring all aspects of our food safety quality management systems, including HACCP, operate in accordance with the business, customer, BRC and other external standards requirements, so that we remain fully compliant against customer Code of Practice, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP and current legislation. Responsible for all internal and external site audits, ensuring a robust auditing programme that continues to meet the requirements of BRC, SMETA and our customers, so that we maintain the highest standards and are always audit-ready. Ensure that the NPD process is followed accordingly for all new products being developed with customers, so that all new products are launched successfully.

The Ideal Candidate
For this role, you will be ideally educated to a degree level in food science, food technology or food safety-related discipline. You will have a proven and demonstrable experience as a Technical Manager within a food manufacturing environment, HACCP and Food Safety Level 4, experience of leading BRC audits on-site, proven experience of leading and mentoring a team along with excellent people skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
